Learning Styles

How Do Students Learn Best?

Understanding how our students learn best is why our students are so successful. Teachers often use THEIR preferred learning style as their main mode of teaching. If students do not share those same preferences,  learning can become very difficult, frustrating and sometimes even avoided by the student. By identifying our students' learning preferences, strengths, weaknesses and concerns, we are able to maximize the potential of our students and provide the necessary supports that our students need.

There are 7 types of learning styles be aware of:

  • Aural  (auditory-musical): You prefer using sound and music.
  • Logical  (mathematical): You prefer using logic, reasoning and systems.
  • Physical  (kinesthetic): You prefer using your body, hands and sense of touch.
  • Social  (interpersonal): You prefer to learn in groups or with other people.
  • Solitary  (intrapersonal): You prefer to work alone and use self-study.
  • Visual  (spatial): You prefer using pictures, images, and spatial understanding.
  • Verbal  (linguistic): You prefer using words, both in speech and writing.

No student is exclusively one style or another, and most students utilize a variety of modalities when learning! At Infiniti International Test Prep, we focus on a student's learning preferences while expanding their ability to use as many learning styles as possible. By using this approach, we are able to maximize student learning.
